It is easy to compare ourselves to humans who lived thousands of years ago and view ourselves as superior, we’re smarter, more evolved and we understand so much more of the world. While some of this might be true, the only thing separating you from someone who lived thousands years ago is that you have the acquired knowledge of the billions of people who came before you.
Thousands, millions, billions of people spent their lives fighting for survival, knowledge and understanding. You get to learn from them and build on their knowledge. Everyday life is filled with connections to humanity's past. No matter what we do we are supported by the ideas and inventions from people from all times all over the world. We are so incredibly connected to the people who came before us.
Our worlds may be very different, the fight for knowledge is much the same but our fight for survival is not as pressing. Despite the different worlds we live in, some of our experiences are still the same across centuries. When you look at the stars you experience them in the same way that humans always have.
When we have the most simple experiences we are the most connected to the ones who came before us.
